Move over raccoon eyes, we'd much prefer the pretty wide-eyed look a la Vanessa Hudgens (at the Cirque du Soleil World Premiere's "IRIS: A Journey Into the World of Cinema") anytime.
Unfortunately, our peepers are the first to show when we don't get enough sleep. But the good news is, we can easily fake a good night's rest. Try these three tips to wake up tired peepers:
1. Camouflage dark circles
Hide those annoying dark under eye circles with a creamy concealer. Use a yellow-based formula that's a shade or two lighter than your skin tone -- don't go any lighter or you'll end up with too-pale arches under your eyes.
Apply along the lower lashes and in the inner corners next to your nose using a small-headed concealer brush. Then pat with your ring finger, which has added warmth, to gently blend. Follow with a dusting of sheer loose powder to lock the concealer in place.
2. Brighten your eyes
Instantly look wide awake by rimming the upper and lower lash lines with a pale shimmery eyeliner -- silver or ivory works great for this. Top with a thin sweep of black liquid liner to define eyes.
3. Amplify those lashes
Black mascara automatically makes an impact by opening up your eyes. Work from the base of lashes to the tip, rolling the brush in a zig-zag motion as you go -- it's the easiest way to separate lashes and avoid clumps.
