#230 : How To Get The Best Out of Your Beauty Products (Skincare)
Sunday, March 8, 2015 @ 9:53 AM
How you apply beauty products is as important as what you use. Here's how to get the most out of everything from moisturiser to your eye cream.
NatMag - skincare
Use gentle, upward circular motions when applying moisturiser.

Moisturiser

'The key thing to remember when applying moisturiser is that the skin should never be pulled,' says Tom Ogden, brand manager of skincare range Alpha-H.
'Concentrate on areas of the face that need most attention – the cheeks and jowls, the creases around the nose and mouth and the forehead – using gentle, upward circular motions.'

Night cream

Use the same technique as you would with your daytime moisturiser – only apply your night cream at least ten minutes before you go to bed.
'You don't want your lovely, expensive night cream to spend its life on your pillow slip instead of your face!' says Tom Ogden.

Skin serum

Serums tend to have a smaller molecular structure than moisturisers, so apply them first for optimum absorption.
'A small amount of serum goes a long way,' says Tom Ogden.
'Apply your product using a "press and roll" motion, gently patting it into the skin. Leave for a couple of minutes to completely absorb before continuing with the rest of your skincare routine.'

Eye cream

Unless otherwise stated, eye creams should only be applied along the orbital bone, which you can trace around the perimeter of the socket.
'Use a small amount of product, warm it between your ring fingers and apply using a gentle patting motion,' says Tom Ogden.
'Never rub, pull, drag or apply heavy pressure as the skin tissue in the eye area is extremely fragile. Wait a few moments before applying your eye make-up.'

Cleanser

'There are no hard and fast rules with cleansers, so follow the application guidelines for the individual product,' says Tom Ogden.
'Generally, non-foaming cleansers are applied to dry skin using gentle circular motions, while foaming products should always be applied to slightly damp skin. Remember to work against gravity – lifting the skin upwards rather than pulling it down.'

Facial exfoliator

'Only apply an exfoliator to cleansed, slightly moist skin,' says Georgia Louise, founder of Georgia Skincare.
'Using circular motions, start from the neck and work your way up to your forehead, avoiding the skin under the eyes. Finish off by rinsing thoroughly with tepid water.'

Neck cream

Whether it's your regular day or night moisturiser or a specific neck treatment, always use your fingertips and gentle upward strokes to apply products to this area. ‘Your starting point should be the bust line,' says Tom Ogden.
'Start here and work your way up – imagine you're applying scaffolding to the whole area.'

Face masks

Always apply to clean, dry skin, unless otherwise stated.
'Never rub the skin aggressively when removing a mask,' says Tom Ogden.
'If it's difficult to take off, mix in a small amount of your cleanser, then rinse it off with lots of warm water – never hot.'

Body lotion

‘For best results, smooth on your lotion after a bath or shower while the pores are still open and the skin is damp,' says Georgia Louise.
'Leave for a few minutes before rubbing in any excess. Massage in using upward strokes or towards the heart – it will help your circulation and lymph drainage.'

Body exfoliator

Georgia Louise recommends body brushing all over to remove any dry skin before applying a body exfoliator in the shower or bath.
'It's best to exfoliate while the skin is wet,' she says.
'Apply your exfoliator to your hands and start by rubbing from the soles of feet, working your way upwards.'

#229 : 15 Easy Ways To Make A Difference
Sunday, March 1, 2015 @ 11:38 AM
Result! These tiny changes will improve your hair, skin, nails and body.

  1. Feed your face!
What our skin needs changes with the seasons, so it’s essential to adapt our skin-care routine accordingly.
  2. Care for your cuticles.
Massage a little cuticle oil into your nails just before bedtime. This will strengthen them in the long term and ensure they are well moisturised.
  3. Wear lipstick in an eye- popping colour.
It means you can get away with a lot less make-up, perfect for when you’re in a rush. A bold lip makes you look like you’ve made an effort.
  4. for bronze.
Bronzers are the perfect product to help you fake a healthy sun-kissed glow. for a light shade without any shimmer. Gently sweep it over your temples, forehead, cheeks, the tip of your nose, and along your jawbone.
  5. Don’t forget sunscreen…
Even on days when you can’t see the sun! Choose a daily moisturiser with an SPF to ensure that your skin is protected from future wrinkles and discolouration.
  6. Floss every day.
Brushing alone only cleans 65% of the surface of your teeth, and neglecting to floss not only results in halitosis, but can also lead to gum disease.
  7. Drink a lot.
At least eight glasses of water a day: it’s one of the cheapest and easiest beauty steps you can take. Hydrating your body from the inside will ensure your skin looks plump and moisturised.
  8. Lash yourself.
Invest in a new mascara. Mascara tubes are great breeding grounds for bacteria, and after about six months the formula starts to break down because of the exposure to air, so buy a new one twice a year. If you notice a strong, rancid smell emanating from the tube, throw it out immediately.
  9. Keep Cool.
There’s nothing quite like a piping hot bath or shower, but very hot water dries out the skin and can cause broken capillaries and spider veins. Resist the allure of the scalding hot bath!
  10. Strike oil.
Facial oils are brilliant for replenishing, revitalising and regenerating your skin because they work on a very deep level. Plus, the action of massaging them into the skin helps with microcirculation, giving you a rosy glow.
  11. Organise your make-up bag.
Set an hour aside to organise your make-up and throw out old products. Anything that looks or smells questionable should be discarded. Clean eye and lip pencils by sharpening them. While you’re at it, clean all your make-up brushes (this should actually be done once a week!) since build-up can lead to breakouts and infections.
Use a mild shampoo and ensure you lay them out on a clean,
flat surface to dry.
  12. Tressed for success.
The start of a new season is the ideal time to cut a fringe, change your hair colour or a little shorter. Just changing the parting can make a big difference to your hairstyle.
  13. Clean your mobile phone.
Mobile phones contain more germs per square inch than a public toilet! Eeuw, and to think we press them against our faces so regularly.
Clean yours every other day by wiping it down with a cotton ball dampened with alcohol.
  14. Scrub up.
Exfoliating the skin on your face and body at least twice a week gets rid of dead skin cells, allowing the products you use to penetrate more effectively for visible results.
  15. Choose a nourishing body wash over soap.
If your skin is easily irritated or prone to flakiness, then you’d be wise to avoid most soaps, as they will probably dry out your skin.

#216 : 50 Ways To Speed Up Your Beauty Routine
Thursday, September 26, 2013 @ 10:39 AM
1. Set up an area on your vanity or bathroom counter to lay out your makeup and tools. They'll be easier to find than in an overstuffed bag.

2. When you brush your teeth, also brush your lips to remove flakes. Then swipe on a tinted lip balm or gloss with SPF (like Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15, $14); you'll get moisture, protection, and color all at once, without needing a lipstick and liner (or even a mirror).

3. Switch to a tinted moisturizer with SPF. It hydrates, evens out your skin tone, protects against UV rays, and is easier to blend than foundation (try Smashbox Sheer Focus SPF 15, $30).

4. If you like face powder: Pressed formulas are easier to use than loose ones and give good coverage quickly (Lancôme Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup, $36, is terrific).

5. Choose big, fluffy brushes to apply face powder and blush. They will deposit a sheer wash of color that's easy to blend.

6. Instead of using a separate concealer and brush, dip a Q-tip into your liquid foundation and tap it on blemishes.

7. For the quickest hit of radiance, skip foundation and powder; instead, dust bronzer on your cheeks, chin, and around your hairline.

8. Or skip the bronzer and apply a facial self-tanner every few days to give yourself a healthy glow and even out your skin tone (L'Oréal Sublime Bronze Towelettes are fast and easy, $10).

9. Use a cream blush or bronzer as both a cheek color and eyeshadow.

10. A three-in-one product for eyes, lips, and cheeks (like Wet 'n' Wild 3-of-a-Kind Twist Up Stick, $4) shaves off a few seconds of switching between products; choose a warm rose or berry shade, which looks the most natural.

11. A pencil eyeliner is easier to handle (and so, quicker) than a liquid or gel (try MAC Pearlglide Eye Liner, $15).

12. If you like the look of a dramatic, smoky eye but don't have time to build layers of shadow, line the rims of your upper and lower lids with a black eyeliner pencil. Then smudge it all the way around with a Q-tip.

13. On mornings when you need a fast eye brightener, trace a creamy nude liner pencil on your lower inner rims, or dip a Q-tip in a light taupe shadow and run it under your lower lashes.

14. Before you apply mascara, roll the brush on a tissue to get rid of clumps so that they won't end up on your lashes (where you'll waste time getting them off).

15. Don't use mascara on your lower lashes. It smudges, and takes time to clean up.
16. It's more important to groom and smooth your brows, line your upper lids, and apply a coat of mascara than to wear eyeshadow. If you want color on your lids, after you apply blush, sweep the brush over your eyelids. Or smooth on concealer—it covers redness, adds a touch of color, and doesn't require careful blending.

17. Sweep a light-colored eyeshadow under your brows and near the inner corners of your eyes. It will create enough contrast with your skin tone that you won't need to use a contouring shadow.

18. Choose neutral rather than trendy makeup colors so you don't have to spend time trying to coordinate them.

19. Look for long-wearing formulas. You won't need to touch up as often.

20. Instead of reapplying your makeup halfway through the day, spray on a finishing mist (like Sephora Makeup Setting Mist, $12), and then pat your face with a dry makeup sponge.

21. Dab a rich night cream (like Aveeno Positively Ageless Night Cream, $20) on the tops of your cheekbones and along your browbones for a fast, natural-looking sheen.

22. Wear your hair between chin and shoulder length so it's short enough to air-dry and style quickly but long enough to pull back if you need to.

23. It takes a lot of time to fight your hair's natural texture, so choose a cut that complements it.

24. When you don't have time to style your bangs (or they're just not cooperating), use a wide (two-inch) headband to smooth them back. The band will look most stylish positioned close (about half an inch) to the hairline.

25. After you've applied body lotion, hand cream, or sunscreen, smooth whatever is left on your hands over your hair to tame flyaways.

26. If your hair looks dirty, spray the roots with hairspray—the alcohol in it absorbs excess oil.

27. If you have longish, wavy hair and want pretty, frizz-free waves: Wash it at night, apply a curl-defining product (like Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Holding Foam, $26), and let it air-dry while you sleep. In the morning, pull it back into a low ponytail. Or, if you need your hair to look good in the evening, wash it in the morning and tie it in a low bun to air-dry. When you take it down a few hours later, you'll have soft, smooth waves.

28. While you work out, twist your hair into a bun and secure it with bobby pins above the nape of your neck. As you heat up, so will your hair, which will set into big, loose waves. Wear a cotton headband to absorb moisture, and keep shorter layers and bangs pinned back.

29. Work a dollop (golf-ball size) of mousse through your just-washed hair, whether you blow it out or let it dry naturally. The alcohol content speeds up drying.

30. For a quicker, easier blow-out, wait until your hair is nearly dry before using a round brush to straighten each section. (A superabsorbent towel, like the Aquis Hair Turban, $12, will expedite the air-drying process.)

31. Or, if you have just a few minutes, blow out only the top and front sections of your hair. Then pull it back into a bun at the nape of your neck. No one will be able to tell that you ignored the bottom layers.

32. Straighten and defrizz your hair as you blow-dry by holding the dryer vertically and keeping the nozzle pointed down. The direction of the air will flatten the cuticle so hair looks smoother and more shiny (with less effort on your part).

33. To boost volume or disguise your roots, zigzag your part or move it to the opposite side.

34. For quick volume, flip your head upside down, spritz your roots with hairspray, lift your head up, and then massage your scalp for a few seconds.

35. Want to get the exact haircolor you want—the first time around? Give your stylist a photograph of the shade you have in mind. Describing it will take a lot longer than showing it, and a small miscommunication can cost you many hours (and dollars) in color correction.

36. Cut down on highlight appointments by finding a stylist who does balayage (painting the hair) instead of using foils. The results are more subtle and natural looking, so you won't need a touch-up for at least three or four months (rather than one or two).

37. Choose a haircolor only two or three shades lighter than your natural one. Anything more dramatic and you'll have noticeable roots in a matter of weeks.

38. If your hair is less than a third gray and you want to cover it, ask your stylist to use a demi-permanent dye. It takes less time to apply, and the color slowly washes out, so there won't be an obvious demarcation as your hair grows.

39. Your face doesn't get dirty while you sleep; splash it with water instead of using a cleanser in the morning (unless you're very oily).

40. Skip toner. You may like how it feels, but it doesn't improve your skin.
41. When you're too pooped for soap and water, reach for a cleansing wipe to take off your makeup. (Payot 3-in-1 Cleansing Wipes, $16, even remove mascara.)

42. Replace your regular soap with a foaming shower oil (like L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil, $22) or hydrating body wash (Olay Body Wash Plus Crème Ribbons, $4) so you can clean and moisturize at the same time.

43. Don't bother with body scrubs or peels—use a damp washcloth (with a little pressure) to exfoliate in the shower.

44. Always use shaving gel. It gives you a closer shave so you won't have to use your razor as often, and it's hydrating.

45. Shrink a pimple fast with a dab of hydrocortisone cream. It brings down swelling and soaks in quickly, so you can apply concealer immediately.

46. If you're prone to breakouts, don't apply an acne treatment to every blemish (especially on your chest or back); instead, use an acne cleanser (like Rodan + Fields Unblemish Wash, $30) on your face and body in the shower. Let it treat your skin while you shave or condition your hair out of the shower stream, then rinse.

47. Skip nail polish. Use a buffing block that files, smooths, and shines your nails. You won't have to wait for the polish to dry or take it off later. (The Kiss Mylar Magic Shine File, $1.50, is gentle and buffs quickly.)

48. If you do want to wear nail polish: The ones that come in pen form (like Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen, $8) are easy to apply yourself, and they dry faster because the formula is thin.

49. Light, sheer polishes won't leave streaks (so you can skip the second coat), and chips won't be very noticeable. (Try Essie Nail Color in Allure, $8.)

50. Doing your own nails? Don't waste time soaking your hands or feet. Simply file, brush on oil, and push back your cuticles. For calluses on your feet, use the PedEgg ($10), a foot file that effectively removes dead skin without cutting.

#215 : Which Flower Extract is Best For Your Beauty Type?
Sunday, September 22, 2013 @ 10:47 AM
Flower extracts are used in all sorts of skincare products, but which petals are best for your skin type?

What flower extract is best for your skin type?Flower extracts are big news in skincare.
But their body-boosting benefits are anything but new. In fact, anti-oxidant rich flowers have been used in skincare treatments for centuries, which is why there is plenty of evidence to support complexion-enhancing qualities.
Here is a lowdown on the perfect petal for your skin type.

Rose
Rose extract is brilliant for intensive moisturising, which is why it’s one of the most popular floral extracts used in skincare products. It’s ideal for those with particularly dry skin. Plus, according to Chinese medicine, rose is thought to have spot and pigment reducing power too. Try Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream.

Hibiscus
The tropical flower is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids which exfoliate skin, speed up cell turnover, and help control acne breakouts, all of which can encourage fresher, younger, and smoother looking skin. They also increase moisture and improve flexibility and elasticity. Try Decleor Relaxing Eye Cream with Hibiscus Extract.

Orchid
If flawless, even-toned skin is what you’re after, then why not opt for extract of orchid. The flower, a powerful antioxidant, is known to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and acts as a humectant that moisturises, soothes and conditions skin. Try Garnier Vital Restore Night Cream, which is enriched with orchid extract.

Poppy
These pretty petals help calm and soften your skin, and possess powerful anti-inflammatory properties. The poppy can be found in products formulated to soothe, condition, protect and hydrate. Try Sisley Buff & Wash Gel with poppy extract.

Jasmine
Extract of jasmine is gorgeously nourishing for skin and works to reduce fine lines and increase elasticity. Try Jurlique Jasmine Hand Cream.

Lavender
Perfect for stressed skin, lavender’s beauty benefits aren’t to be underestimated. For a hugely soothing treatment, try Elemis Herbal Lavender Repair Mask.

#214 : 20 Lazy Girl Summer Beauty Tips
Saturday, August 10, 2013 @ 9:34 PM
Lazy girls, listen up! With easy hair products and beauty tricks, you'll be looking good all season-long with minimal effort (woo hoo!).

1. Wear A Hat: Be stylish and smart by popping on a floppy topper before heading out to your cabana. The style feels old-school glam, but has the added nicety of covering up your ears and hairline should you forget to reapply sunscreen as often as you should.

2. Shower Before Swimming Even if your backyard water is calling your name (loudly), wait a sec before diving in. Step into the outdoor shower that's a fixture at most pools and get your mane wet. Thirsty, dry hair strands will soak up fresh water before being touched by chemical-filled, chlorinated liquid. Makes sense, right?

3.Use a Primer: The silky formula feels lightweight on and only adds seconds to your routine. It gives your foundation, bronzer, and blush something to hold on to, making it stay longer. You get to reapply less frequently.

4.Shave Smartly: If you're anything like us, shaving…sucks. Simplify the process by picking up a razor with built-in shave bars. It lets you skip cream or gel, and moisturizes simultaneously. Short-shorts, here you come!

5.Start Drying Immediately: We've saved on our drying time recently by picking up a few smart, in-shower tools. Goody's new QuickStyle Paddle Brush is made to work through tangled, wet strands, and a smart design acts as a squeegee to push out get excess moisture.

6.Use Spray Tan Protection: Ladies that use self-tanner, whether at home or in a spray tanning salon, know the dread of getting solution on their sheets. Extend laundry day by slipping an old t-shirt over your pillow before you hit the sack. It'll protect your linens from any color rubbing off.

7.Stick It On: The bevy of nail stickers out there are way easier to apply than you think. If you haven't tried, pick some up! Sally Hansen uses real polish, meaning they're easy to remove, and a new pedicure version lets you get gussied up on the cheap (and on your own couch!).

8.Towel-dry your strands faster by picking something other than terry cloth: Paper towels are way more absorbent! Grab a few from the kitchen and squeeze out water before using your dryer.

9. Cut Your Own Bangs: Maintaining fringe is hard! For the best trim at home, twist small sections of your bangs and cut into them by holding your scissors horizontal to strands, rather than perpendicular. Too scared? Check and see if your salon offers free touch-up snips.

10. Try a Topknot: The style's super fashion-y, but even better, quick, easy, and cooler than long, heavy hair. Pull strands into a high ponytail, tie, twist, and poke hairpins into the coiled locks.

11.Go Big with Lips: Rock one of this season's vivid lipsticks, like tangerine. It might sound like extra work, but trust us-just a bright (quick) dash of color lets you tone down the rest of your makeup.

12.Counter Culture: Have a formal shindig that requires more than just a coat of mascara and some lip balm? Avoid stressing over it by heading to a makeup counter at your local department store. The pros there will happily show you the wares-a.k.a. do your makeup.

13.Plan Wisely: Heading to the beach with your girlfriends? Chat beforehand to divvy up who will bring what. Let someone bring a hairdryer, someone bring shampoo and conditioner, and someone bring hte sunscreen.

14.Sock Up: Summer sandals and flip-flops can wreak havoc on your soles. Keep heels soft by pulling on moisturizing socks for 15 minutes before bed. Coated with special ingredients, they fight calluses so you can avoid more aggressive scrubbing later.

15. Multi-Task Mania: When shopping for summer makeup, pay close attention to double-duty products. Finds that work on lips, cheeks, and eyes keep luggage light and your routine easy.

16.Brighten Up: Ladies that'd love some seasonal highlights but haven't gotten around to booking a salon appointment can take care of it day-of. New options let you comb color through, leaving glowing color that stays in until your next shampoo.

17.Braid & Go: Forget laboring with a curling iron. The easiest way to get beachy waves (sans the sea) is to braid damp strands into two pigtails. Leave them in while you sleep or run errands, take out, and rake a hand through them. Perfecto!

18.Wipe Up: Scared off of messy self-tanner lotions and foams? The foolproof version comes in pre-soaked, disposable towelettes. Bonus: They're perfect for packing on vacation!

19.Frizz Fighters: At the end of your rope with humidity-induced frizzies and fly-aways? Forget potions, lotions, and blow-drying tricks. Grab a tube of clear mascara, and use the wand to shape those little pieces of hair into submission.

20. Oh, Baby: Make sure your bathroom vanity is stocked with a bottle of baby power. The multi-use hero is good for any uncomfortable chafing that might happen on your long beach stroll. It's also good at taming oily locks, too-it was the original dry shampoo!

#211 : Five Food To Make Your Skin Glow
Monday, June 24, 2013 @ 6:00 PM
Eat these foods for radiant-looking skin:

1. Salmon to prevent premature ageing:

A healthy skin desires essential fatty acids and most kinds of sea food have them in more or less amounts. As a premier source ofomega-3 fatty acids, cold-water, oily fishes are laden with anti-inflammatory essential fatty acids. And salmon is an excellent example of that. People who ate diets rich in such foods have shown late appearance of skin wrinkling, as omega-3 fatty acids prevents the skin from drying out, keeping it supple and elastic for a longer time. If you don’t like fish, opt for fish oil capsules, at least.

2. Green tea for acne-free skin:

This wonder drink is full of antioxidants, which helps reduce inflammation and protect cell membranes. Green tea, considerably reduces damage caused by overexposure to ultraviolet light and sunburns. Sipping on green tea can also help in fighting acne as it lowers production of an acne producing hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Brewing up three to five cups of green tea every day is recommended to reap the full benefits for your skin.

3. Berries for protection against the harmful UV ray:

Deeply coloured berries such as blackberries, blueberries, blackcurrant, raspberries, cranberries, strawberries and the likes are good food for your skin. Berries help the body construct collagen which makes the skin smooth and supple. Brimming with antioxidant, berries are effective in neutralising damaging free radicals (a leading cause of premature skin aging and cell damage) generated in the skin by excessive exposure to UV rays.

4. Brown rice for well-hydrated skinBrown is definitely better than white rice. The fiber-packed brown rice and other whole grains work like a charm in getting blemish free and firm skin. Whole grains contain ceramides, the lipid molecules which help your skin maintain its moisture. Naturally occurring ceramides get incorporated into the outer layer of skin and help in maintaining its hydration.

5. Eggs to help repair :

Crack open some eggs. Protein helps repair cells that have suffered free radical damage. Eggs, a complete source of protein, also contain biotin, an essential vitamin that protects against dry skin. Protein in eggs helps repair cells that have suffered free radical damage. Eggs, being a complete source of protein also score high on nutrients like biotin, an essential vitamin that protects against skin drying. Egg-white protein provides all of the twenty-two amino acids in balanced proportion with essential amino acids. The good news is egg-white protein contains no cholesterol!

Sunday, February 17, 2013 @ 6:30 PM

[Today's Test-it!] Kiehl's SG Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is what you need for that persistent war against your deep set dark spots!

Light-weight and hydrating, combined with the finest ingredients, what else can one ask for?

Victoria says:
Finally, a formula that works well for sensitive Asian skins! The Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution contains 100% active ingredients, which immediately targets deep-set dark spots without over-drying the skin. Its key ingredient, Activated C, makes use of “anti-cluster” technology to break apart discoloration to give a visibly more uniformed skin tone. I was pleasantly surprised by its lightweight and hydrating texture – it did not feel as though the solution was too overpowering or “weighing down” on my skin even when I applied an over-zealous amount. In fact, unlike most discolouration products, I can use it all year round.

How to use it effectively:
After your daily cleansing and toning routine, treat and correct emerging dark spots with a drop of the solution. Allow it to be fully absorbed before moisturising the skin.

Where to buy it:
S$90 (30ml)

Available at Robinsons (Raffles City and Marina Bay Sands), VivoCity #01-11/12, TANGS Orchard, Tampines Mall #01-29, Takashimaya #B1-33, ION Orchard #B3-54, Plaza Singapura #01-66, Parkway Parade #01-29, Bugis Junction #01-13, Great World City #01-16

#192 : Beauty Review - Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Protective Recovery Complex (Serum)
Monday, February 4, 2013 @ 5:14 PM
Hello hello, I'm back with a new post. Yes, it's a beauty review, I tried the sample serum, the quantity is much more for a face like mine. Sounds thick-skinned but nevertheless. This is how it looks like.

Yes doesn't the bottle look beautiful, from seeing the display picture, I knew already it will be a dropper kind of bottle. Yes, this serum is amazing. It's scentless and doesn't feel sticky at all. Very smooth to apply on your face. The pamphlet of this product's explanation is as follows :- It helps to repair the appearance of past damage caused to your skin and protect the skin's future. It also helps in neutralizing 90% of free radicals. Good to apply on face morning and night after cleansing. Perfect, ain't it? Such a sweet lovely bottle.

#191 : Advertorial about Apivita
Sunday, February 3, 2013 @ 12:56 AM
This is a post that was taken from insing.com. While there are enough facial masks in the world, not many work as well as they claim to. We’re all too familiar with the disappointment that comes with trying overly hyped products that just don’t work. Luckily, APIVITA’s Express face masks don’t fall into that category of beauty products.
The Greek brand’s facials masks have been a favourite for over ten years in Greece and the rest of Europe and they’ve been revamped recently as it made its way to our sunny shores. The revamped line consists of 15 different  face masks, all rich in Vitamins and extracts from Mediterranean fruits and vegetables, as well as up to 99 percent natural compositions that target treatment of the face.
With 15 different masks in the line, there’s one to meet every skin type and concern. Mix up hydration and anti-aging if you’ve got dry skin and you want to keep the wrinkles at bay. The masks contain organic green tea infusion instead of water to enhance antioxidant action and are also enhanced with essential oils.
APIVITA’s Express Beauty Masks retail at $58 for a pack of 12 sachets and are available at their stores in ION Orchard, #B3-45/46 Tel: 6509 0665 & VivoCity #01-04 Tel: 6225 7955

#190 : Masking Sunday
Friday, February 1, 2013 @ 9:00 PM
Hahaha, it is time to try out a new mask! YES, I tried Puresa Sheet Mask with Collagen today. I simply like it.. Hmm, I should try the other mask with collagen but I wanna try a new brand therefore.. Hee.
This is it, I bought it at Watson. However it costs $13.90 but I didn't notice how many pieces were there before buying. =.= Only 5 pieces in 1 miserable box. So it actually cost $2.78 per piece. Darn. Ah, nevermind I just tried it only lol, even if I don't like it, I can still give the others away right?

This is my before face before applying.

After putting it on, I know I might have put it on too fast so didn't quite adjust it well.

Tadah! Does my face look brighter than before? LOL! It definitely looks brighter than before at least to me.
Hehe, this my first time putting on mask and taking a picture with it. Felt shy about it, but anyway there's other girls whose doing the same thing putting on the masks and taking a picture so why not?

Hehe, I will intro other masks too, soon enough. Btw, this post was actually created on 27 January 2013 at 10.27pm. I need to backlot it, therefore I might post it at a later date. Sorry yeah? Bye~

#186 : Two Beauty Samples that I've Tried
Sunday, January 27, 2013 @ 2:32 PM
Yesh as above topic, sadly the samples not up to my satisfaction.

Firstly, let me introduce you to Skin Food's Black Raspberry Toner.
Ingredients of this particular product : black raspberry, jayangboeumdan and cheongyeondan extracts from 12 medical herbs, penetrates deeply into the skin with anti-aging peptide. It intensively moisturizes and erases wrinkles for a firmer skin. Its gel texture ensures longer moisture retention on the skin. So about this sample pack that I got earlier from Samplestore.sg, the miserably small pack wasn't enough to show me how effective the toner was, all I get was a few drops of it and that's all. Pathetic right?

Secondly, the next sample I got to try is Bioessence Face Lifting Cream.
Ingredients of the product : Menthol, Polyacrylamide (and) C13-14 Isoparaffin (and) Laureth-7, Ethylene Glycol Mono Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycol Stearate, Propyl Paraben, Glycerin, White Oil, Propylene Glycol, Lentinus Edodes Extract (Bio Energy Fluid), Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Paraben, Bioflavoniods (Bio Mineral Essence), Ginseng(Panax) Extract, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Radix Angelicae Sinensis Extract, Lycium Extract, Rice Extract Liquid, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Pine Pollen.
It's supposed to act like a moisturizer however the moment you applied on your face, it doesn't feel like it worked as one. The feeling that you feel is a cooling feeling and it sort of felt like giving a mentholic feel on your face. This feels like some sort of muscle balm or something akin to it.

I have yet tried any moisturizer giving me that kind of cooling feel if you get what I mean yeah?

Alright time to end this post now.

#185 : Korean Skincare Regime (Cut short)
Saturday, January 26, 2013 @ 11:17 AM
Who will follow the tedious skincare routine?
Cleanser > Mask > Exfoliation > Toner > Emulsion > Essence > Serum > Eye Serum > Eye Cream > Finally Moisturizer/Night Cream ~ It's actually a 11-step skincare routine but I excluded the makeup removal for the first step. This is actually for those who don't makeup often. ( For me, I doubt I'll mask everyday, so the only thing I don't have is Exfoliate, Emulsion, Essence, Serum and Eye Serum. Hmm I feel that I'll probably include some in my to-buy list. OF course I won't buy all at once. Still need to experiment.

One week I only tried 1-3 samples only. Then Sunday I'll experiment on masks to find out which one suits and best for me. :) Okay till the next post.
